Speaker: Panel: Beth Turner, Alice Parkerson and Carol Wise
Beth Turner, Executive Director of Legal Affairs and Philanthropic Advisor, Tulane University; Alice Parkerson, Vice President of Development, Greater New Orleans Foundation; and Carol Wise will discuss gift planning from three perspectives – that of a donor, a community foundation that administers donor advised funds, and a charitable organization.
- Carol Wise, philanthropist and local donor will discuss her personal experience donating art as well the taxwise ways that she has used to create charitable gifts.
- Alice Parkerson will talk about donor advised funds and what community foundations can do to assist professional advisors who are helping charitably inclined clients, and
- Beth Turner will moderate and will discuss some practical aspects of gift planning from the charity’s perspective, such as including a representative of the charity as part of the team of advisors, talking to clients about endowments, and resources charities can provide to advisors.
